Why is a deadlift important for us?

I’ve seen quite a few answers on here that are actually incredibly valid ones. Whether it’s that the deadlift allows us to work the muscles necessary to bend or pull or that the muscle allows us to stand properly and resist the effects of gravity, all of them hold some sort of validity. On that same note, however, there are a few other reasons why the deadlift is important other than those that were mentioned in the answers below.

*Before I get into this answer I feel the need to let you know why I’m answering this question in the first place. To be honest, I just love the deadlift it’s that simple.

  1. It applies to a variety of different areas in life.
    1. It teaches your body to move in a way that will have a carryover to almost any movement you do
    2. Any sport, everyday activity etc. will have some portion of the deadlift included meaning that learning how to bend, pull, stand etc. under loads will help you in everyday life
  2. It requires you to use your entire body
  3. You can lift more weight with the deadlift than you would with other movements
  4. It allows you to get better at movements that your body are designed to do in the first place

The above points were just paraphrased points taken from the below resources. Check them out if you would like to learn more.
