Well, I believe a good way to approach this would be to look at the muscles that the bench press works and the actions we use them for in everyday life. (also, let’s note that the bench press is a pressing movement, hence the name lol).
The bench press uses:
- The shoulders
- The pecs
- The triceps
- The upper back (for a base)
What do we use them for:
- To open
- To push doors open
- To push strollers
- To push people(if you’re violent)
Not to sound like an a-hole but, the bench press basically has a carryover in any movement that requires you to use a pressing motion.
