“Should you perform squats on deadlift day?” Should you squat before you deadlift?” Both of these questions are questions that really come down to what the movement you need to apply the most focus to. If your focus for the day is doing heavy deadlifts then it makes sense to deadlift first so you can focus your energy on that. If your focus is working up to a heavy squat then it makes sense to focus on your squat and then perform the deadlift.
